Job Description / Responsibility
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Facilitate the development of CPB`s Strategic Plan, working collaboratively with the President and Department Head;
  • Oversee continuing development of CPB�s strategic and annual planning processes to ensure alignment of strategies and plans with organizational objectives;
  • Take a leadership role in identifying new strategic initiatives of potential value to CPB;
  • Lead a regular strategic assessment of existing and potential sales channels and products.
  • Implement strategic sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Increase sales by identifying new opportunities for growth, including new client identification and product positioning.
  • Support new product development, including product research, marketing, and pricing.
  • Data Analysis & Performance Reporting:
  • Oversee CPB�s central data analysis and data governance functions to ensure consistent and accurate performance information is available to Food Business and is secure and auditable;
  • Ensure accurate and timely statistical reporting and business related information is available to top team;
  • Oversee the development of a program of project-based data analysis to build knowledge and understanding of Food Business performance;
  • Take a leadership role in identifying innovations in data collection, analysis and reporting to drive organizational performance improvement.
  • Strategic Leadership & Performance Management:
  • Promote an organizational culture and structure that fosters cooperation, communication, collaboration, teamwork, and trust.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support for all sales staff and directly supervise sales staff.
  • Provide executive leadership to the organization, giving input on company direction and organizational strategy as appropriate.
  • Establish individual goals and objectives for each sales staff member and develop tools to measure achievement.
  • Develop and implement sales-team incentive program to award excellent performance.
  • Support, develop and mentor direct reports to ensure business requirements and goals are achieved, divisional objectives are communicated and implemented effectively and appropriately and delivery processes and standards are built consistently;
  • Continuously develop the leadership and functional capability within the Strategy & Planning division, building a performance based, collaborative divisional culture;
  • Construct performance development plans in conjunction with direct reports to set performance direction and highlight training and development needs, and regularly monitor and assess performance of direct reports, providing constructive feedback;
  • Develop exceptional working relationships with Executives from other divisions, and actively participate as a member of the CPB Executive by providing expert strategic advice as appropriate.

  • A proven track record in sales and new client generation in the food industry-past experience in sales, food product research and development, or value-added products will added value;
  • Comfort with regular travel to conferences and client sites;
  • Resourceful and inspirational attitude when interacting with both internal and external audiences;
  • High level of professional integrity;
  • Willingness to be flexible, adaptable, and proactive in a constantly changing industry;
  • Past experience in developing markets for new products;
  • Experience in a startup or in launching a new program/department;
  • International work experience will add value;
  • Relationship building skills to take appropriate action to develop strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Effective planning and organizing skills to effectively prioritize and meet designated timeframes, ensuring work priorities are completed on time and within budget;
  • Exceptional conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills to enable the identification of issues, analysis of options and the judgment to determine appropriate courses of action relevant to achieving positive outcomes and long-range organizational goals;
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills to enable the formulation of strategies that will improve the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of the organization as a whole;
  • Leadership skills to manage and develop others to achieve organizational goals and objectives;
  • A critical thinker and problem solver;
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and training delivery skills;
  • Computer skills e.g. MS Office, E-mail correspondence are essential.
